Why is this needed? As you likely know by now, this line of work can feel isolating. Even though we might be well-networked in our own area, it can still feel like we’re working in a silo because of our niche and trauma-based work. But what we know is that there are others who are doing similarly great work across the country (and world!) and we should lean on each other for experience, expertise, and, above all, support. It’s hard finally reaching that day when you host the event in memory of your person and afterwards, we collapse. And so many times, people around us assume that because we carry it well for the event or through our work, that it’s not heavy – but we know that’s not the case. So, like our local programming here at DJ’s Alliance, we want to anchor our fellow loss survivors and advocates as much as possible.

Let’s not wait to meet new friends and support each other in our efforts to remember our loved ones.
